HAMMERED

“One more match. One more mess.”

A 6-Part Comedy-Drama Mini-Series

Starring Darren Scott as Bruce “The Hammer” Hammerton

SERIES OVERVIEW

HAMMERED is a sharp, heartfelt Yorkshire comedy-drama following washed-up wrestling legend Bruce “The Hammer” Hammerton, whose quiet life running a rundown gym is turned upside-down when a cheeky online video reignites local fame — and drags him back toward the ring one last time.

With his sardonic niece, his painfully eager nephew, and a cast of local misfits behind him, Bruce faces off with the past, present, and a well-oiled nemesis known only as The Viper.

It’s not just about one more match — it’s about legacy, pride, and not collapsing on the entrance ramp.

LOGLINE

When a grizzled former wrestling star is mocked online by a cocky trainee, he claps back with a viral promo that reignites old rivalries, fan demand — and a return to the ring he’s not entirely sure he can still survive.

MEET THE HAMMERTON CREW

Bruce “The Hammer” Hammerton – Darren Scott

Ex-wrestling icon. Gruff, grounded, and stitched together with tape and sarcasm. Think Rocky Balboa meets Last of the Summer Wine.

We’re proud to have Darren Scott leading the series. A real-life veteran of the World of Sport wrestling era, Darren shared the ring with the likes of Giant Haystacks and Big Daddy, bringing an authenticity and presence that grounds the story in the rich tradition of British wrestling. His performance balances gruff humour, vulnerability, and a deep love for the business — making him the perfect heart of the show.

Kelly – Niece & social media handler

Smart, dry-witted, and far more capable than anyone else in the gym. Keeps Bruce alive with sarcasm and sugar.

Micky – Nephew & wannabe wrestler

All enthusiasm, zero technique. His wrestling dreams are matched only by his mop-handling ability.

Danny “Diamond” Dunsmore – Former manager

Slippery, shouty, and always selling something. Part Del Boy, part Don King — if Don King sold meat raffles.

Patsy & Norman – Local legends

Sharp-tongued knitters and former announcers with more gossip than Google.

The Viper – Bruce’s nemesis

Young, shredded, and ready to “retire the relic.” A perfect foil for Bruce’s throwback grit.

      TONE & STYLE

Genre: Comedy-Drama

Style: Warm, grounded, nostalgic

Tone: Ted Lasso meets Only Fools and Horses, with a sprinkle of GLOW

Expect pint-pulling, body-slamming, Yorkshire banter wrapped in heart and held together with gaffer tape.

EPISODE GUIDE

EPISODE 1 – “Once More Into the Ring”

Bruce gets mocked online by trainee Kyle. He claps back — and the video goes viral. An old manager comes calling. A match is rumoured. Trouble begins.

EPISODE 2 – “Back in the Day”

Patsy and Norman books the venue without Bruce agreeing. Micky demands to train. Bruce tries — and fails — to train quietly.

EPISODE 3 – “The Comeback Racket”

Training begins (badly). Bruce starts feeling the burn. Micky nearly breaks the ring. Kelly gets Bruce on TikTok.

EPISODE 4 – “Pub Talk and Poster Lies”

The locals discover Bruce’s comeback. A terrible poster. The match becomes real. Bruce is officially challenged by “The Viper.”

EPISODE 5 – “Bumps, Brawls & Battered Pride”

Bruce prepares for the match. Pain, doubt, old memories. A surprise visit from his old rival Mad Mick Maguire raises the stakes.

EPISODE 6 – “Hammer Time”

The Civic Hall show. A community unites. The bell rings. A nostalgic, emotional, slightly ridiculous final match — and the comeback of a lifetime.

WHY IT WORKS

      VISUAL STYLE
